ENEL GREEN POWER starts operating 24MW wind farm in France

Enel Green Power has started operating its second largest wind farm in France, with 24 MW of installed capacity from 12 wind turbines of 2 MW each. The Haut-de-Conge wind farm is located in the municipalities of Dampierre, Vitry-les-Nogent, Poinson-les-Nogent in Haute-Marne department (Champagne-Ardenne).

The Haut-de-Conge wind farm will produce over 50 million kWh per year, meeting the annual energy needs of about 15,000 households: the energy produced by the farm will avoid the emission of 40,000 tons of CO2, the greenhouse gas identified as one of the prime causes of climate change.

“Thanks to this 24MW of additional wind capacity, we confirm our aim to reinforce our presence in France” - stated Francesco Starace, President of Enel Green Power “We will further develop our presence in this growing market leveraging on our competences in all the main renewable technologies, in particular in solar and hydro.”

With the Haut de Conge wind farm, Enel Green Power France’s total installed capacity in France reaches 92 MW, with an annual production of over 200 million kWh. Other wind power plants for overall 64 MW are currently under construction.
